James Christopher DAY

James Christopher DAY, 57,of Fairfield, died Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, at home.

A memorial gathering will be from 4-6 p.m Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Boy Scout Troop No. 21 or Chief Wapello Trail Committee. Cards and memorials may be sent to 107 Deppe Lane, Ottumwa 52501.

Mr. DAY was born Nov. 3, 1954, in Ottumwa, the son of Roscoe and Margaret MAXSON DAY.

Mr. DAY graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1973 and then with a degree in diesel mechanics from Indian Hills Community College in 1975. He worked more than 30 years at Dexter Company as a machinist.

Survivors include his mother of Ottumwa and one sister: Sue WALLACE of Chesterfield, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his father.
