Thad Evan MILLARD

Thad Evan MILLARD, 44, of Rome, Iowa, suffered a cardiac arrest at home and later died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Paul Miller officiating. Interment will be at Oakland Mills Cemetery.

Family visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Thad Millard Memorial.

Mr. MILLARD was born Sept. 8, 1967, in Mount Pleasant, the son of Thomas and Joan HART MILLARD. He married Sue KLINE in January 1991 in Mount Pleasant. They later divorced.

Mr. MILLARD attended Mount Pleasant Community High School, graduating in 1986. For 20 years, he worked at Schaus-Vorhies Manufacturing in Fairfield as a steel fabricator. He was currently serving on the Rome, Iowa, City Council.

Mr. MILLARD rebuilt Triumph Motorcycles in his shop Henry County Choppers and entered them in bike shows. He enjoyed the chicken dance, hunting, fishing and spending time with his children.

Survivors include two daughters: Jennifer MILLARD of Danville and Mikayla MILLARD of Rome; two granddaughters; his mother of Mount Pleasant; his significant other: Liz Barnett of Rome; his ex-wife: Sue MILLARD of Mount Pleasant; three brothers; Timothy MILLARD of Lockridge, Tony MILLARD of Mount Pleaasant and Todd MILLARD of Salem; and two sister; Robin MILLARD and Rita HULING, both of Mount Pleasant.

He was preceded in death by his father.
