Maxine Mae SIMPSON

Maxine Mae SIMPSON, 66, of Fairfield, died at 3:20 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at Jefferson County Hospital.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield with Rev. Danny Cary officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

Family visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Senior Citizen Site and the Lord's Cupboard.

Mrs. SIMPSON was born Oct. 21 (sic - 31), 1935, in West Chester, Keokuk County, the daughter of Chester Martin and Mary Jane BOND CARRIKER. She married Gary W. SIMPSON Jan. 26, 1978.

She lived in the Fairfield area for over 45 years. She was employed as assistant manager at the Agency for Aging for eight years.

She volunteered at the Bargain Box and was a member of the Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary and the Eagles Ladies' Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Gary SIMPSON of Fairfield; one daughter, Vivian Christine RILEY of Fairfield; two sons, Monte Blaine RILEY and Rusty Ray SIMPSON (sic - Rusty Ray RILEY), both of Fairfield; one step-daughter, Debra Sue MORRIS of Sioux City; two step-sons, Max Alan SIMPSON of Ottumwa and Kevin Wayne SIMPSON of Chippewa Falls, Wis.; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Chester Leroy CARRIKER of Los Angeles and Stanley Edward CARRIKER; and four sisters, Mary Leona CROUSE of Delta, Elizabeth Ann EADY of San Diego, Alice Mary HENDERSON of Belleville, Neb., and Karen Rae WEIHOFEN of Winfield, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
