Mrs. Harry A. SMITH, 63, 508 S. Second, died suddenly Sunday afternoon at the Jefferson County Hospital. She had become ill at the Smith cabin in Kilbourne earlier.
The body is at the Weston Behner Funeral Home where arrangements are pending.
Vera Fay SMITH was born March 14, 1909 in Wapello County, the daughter of William and Millie LONGERBONE RILEY. She was married to Harry A. SMITH on April 6, 1927 at Ottumwa. She had lived in the Fairfield Community many years and had been employed at Parsons College for approximately 10 years.
Mrs. SMITH was a member of the First Christian Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Mystery Sisters.
She is survived by her husband, two sons and two daughters, Duane SMITH of Fairfield, Gary Ellis SMITH of Yap, Western Caroline Islands, Betty MECK of Libertyville and Rhonda at home. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and one sister and one brother, Velma PUDER of Fairfield and Gerald RILEY of Fairfield.
She was preceded in death by one son, five brothers and one sister.
