BATAVIA --- Services for C. E. "Tom" MYERS, 83, Batavia, who died at 2:20 a.m. Thursday at Jefferson County Hospital, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Kermit Black officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 today at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the Cancer Fund.
Myers was born Dec. 10, 1903 in Jefferson county, the son of Emmett and Maude GARDNER MYERS. He was a resident of Packwood for 36 years and of Batavia for 24 years. A retired farmer, he was a Cargil Seed dealer and Archer Oil dealer for many years, and worked for some time at the Fairfield Livestock Auction.
He married Elva Bernice McCLEARY Jan. 22, 1927 at Ottumwa. She died Oct. 14, 1985.
Surviving are two sons, Keith of Keosauqua, Kenneth of Ottumwa, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a brother Emery "Bike" MYERS of Oxnard, Calif. A son, Raymond, preceded him death.
