Wilda Marie SMITH

Wilda Marie SMITH, 79, of Jefferson, died at 7:10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 1992, at Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Royar officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to First Christian Church in Fairfield.

Mrs. SMITH was born Sept. 23, 1912, in Milton, the daughter of Raymond and Stella REIGHARD COOK. She graduated from Milton High School. On May 24, 1934, she married Glen H. MARTIN, who died April 10, 1964. In 1975, she married Dwight SMITH. She had lived most of her married life on a farm south of Fairfield and had lived in Jefferson the past year. She had worked in the Grinnell Mutual Insurance office in Fairfield and was a member of First Christian Church.

Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Nadine KIMPLE of Plano, Texas, Mona Sue FRENCH of Turner, Ore., Kathleen ELLIOTT of Jefferson; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Wilbur and Wilford, preceded her in death.
