W. GILLASPIE rites today

Wesley H. GILLASPIE, 89, a resident of Parkview Care Center, died Saturday at 3:20 p.m. at Jefferson County Hospital. He had been a patient there since June 21.

Services were held today at 10:30 a.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Kermit Black officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.

GILLASPIE was born Sept. 14, 1888 at Canton, Kan., the son of Alex and Mary GODOWN GILLASPIE. Most of his life was spent in Van Buren and Jefferson Counties. He resided in the Packwood community for more than 50 years and the Ollie and Libertyville areas as well.

GILLASPIE was married to Laura Ethel CRAWFORD Jan. 12, 1910. She preceded him in death May 28, 1965.

He is survived by a son, Raymond H. GILLASPIE, Fairfield; a daughter Martha LUETJE, Burbank, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A daughter-in-law, Frances GILLASPIE, Fairfield, also survives.

A retired farmer, GILLASPIE was a member of the Packwood United Methodist Church. One son, two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
