B. CRAWFORD rites Wednesday

WASHINGTON -- Beatrice A. CRAWFORD, 79, of Washington, died Sunday morning at Washington County Hospital following a sudden illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home with the Rev. George Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at Fairfield. Visitation begins Tuesday morning at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established to the minibus in Washington.

Mrs. CRAWFORD was born March 16, 1906 (sic - 1907) at Fairfield, the daughter of John and Effie Dell WINTER. She was educated in Fairfield, where on Jan. 21, 1927 she married Earnest CRAWFORD. He died in 1974. She had last worked at the State Cafe in Washington.

Surviving are nine children, Helen GOHN of Emmetsburg, Crystal BARBER of Davenport, Betty TIEGERS, Shirley KNEER, Virginia CRAWFORD, Mary KNEER, John CRAWFORD, Margaret MANGOLD and Tom CRAWFORD, all of Washington; 37 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Maurice WINTER of Ankeny, Russell WINTER of Fairfield; two sisters, Freda MARR of Mt. Pleasant, and Juanita, living in Wyoming.

One son, two daughters, three grandchildren and three brothers preceded her in death.
