Fred BOWERMASTER Taken In Death

Fred BOWERMASTER, native of Jefferson county and retired postal employee, died suddenly Sunday morning at his home, 502 South D street. He suffered a stroke while asleep about 5 a.m.

The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Hoskins funeral home, and funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. at the funeral home. The services will be in charge of Rev. O. F. DeCoursey and the Rev. Francis Henrickson. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Fred BOWERMASTER, 70, was born April 25, 1885, in Jefferson county the son of the late John and Margaret GOW BOWERMASTER. He was reared and educated in Fairfield.

He was married May 6, 1912, Nellie LAMANSKY, who preceded her husband in death on Jan. 4, 1953.

BOWERMASTER was employed at the Fairfield post office for many years and was superintendent of mails when he retired in 1948. He was a member of the Holy Name society of the Catholic church and a member of the St. Mary Catholic church.

He is survived by three children: Mrs. Evelyn TALBOT, New London; Mrs. Rosalie HARRIS, San Diego, Calif.; and Robert BOWERMASTER, Chicago.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren; two brothers, Claude BOWERMASTER, Fairfield and Earl BOWERMASTER, Rock Island, Ill.; and a half-sister, Mrs. Bessie STEWART, Detroit.
