Ed BONNETT rites pending

BIRMINGHAM --- Edward BONNETT, 75, of Birmingham, died of cancer at 5 a.m. today at Jefferson County Hospital.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua. Memorials to the Cancer Fund may be left there.

BONNETT was born March 11, 1910 near Libertyville, the son of Edward, Sr. and Ora HUDSON BONNETT. He lived his life in Jefferson and Van Buren counties. He was a retired farmer and had been a John Deere implement dealer in Stockport. On June 15, 1937 at Fairfield he married Evelyn FERREL, who died Nov. 14, 1959.

Surviving are three daughters, Glenda WELLS of St. Louis, Mo., Beverly BENGE of Douds, Sandra CLINGAN of Fairfield,; a son, Michael of Birmingham; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ercel FRY of Marceline, Mo., Myrtle CARMICHAEL of Fairfield, Birdie BONNETT of Libertyville; two brothers, Russell of Libertyville and Raymond of Fairfield. Three brothers preceded him in death.

BONNETT was a member of Stockport Christian Church and was a Mason. He had served on the Birmingham City Council and on both the Birmingham and Stockport school boards.

Edward BONNETT funeral Monday

BIRMINGHAM -- Services for Edward BONNETT, 75, who died Friday at Jefferson County Hospital, will be Monday at 2 p.m. at First Christian Church. The Rev. Charles Kincaid will officiate.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family will be at Pedrick Funeral Home for visitation Sunday from 7-8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the cancer fund and left at the funeral home.

A special thanks to Dr. Baumann, the Fairfield Clinic, nurses and staff at the Jefferson Co. Hospital, the ladies of the First Christian Church for lunch and Rev. Kincaid for the beautiful service.
