W. R. BRERETON Taken In Death

William R. BRERETON, 80, retired farmer, died Saturday at 5 P.m. at the Jefferson County Hospital after a serious illness of six weeks. His home was at 605 N. Main St.

Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home in charge of Rev. Ned C. Gillum. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

BRERETON had made his home in Fairfield for the past four years. He farmed three miles southeast of the city for many years.

BRERETON was born Sept. 23, 1885 in Henry County, the son of William and Nancy MOORE BRERETON. He was married to Ida GIBERSON March 4, 1912.

Surviving are his widow and the following children: Harold BRERETON, Fairfield; Hollis BRERETON, Keosauqua; Mrs. Joe MARTIN, Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. Myron METZ, Fairfield; Mrs. Paul KURTZ, Fairfield; Mrs. Robert WILSON, Rock Island, Ill.; and Mrs. Herbert JOHNSON, Lockridge. Twenty-five grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren also surviving.

He was preceded in death by one son, Glenn, who died in World War II; three brothers and two sisters.
