Jesse Calvin CALHOUN, resident of Fairfield for the past four years, passed away about 10:50 p.m. last night at the home of his daughter, Nina CULLUM, at 609 W. Kirkwood street.
A native of Henry county, he made his home in that community most of his life until four years ago when he came to Fairfield to live with his daughters.
Last rites will be Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Weston Behner funeral home with the Rev. S. P. Williamson in charge.
Jesse Calvin CALHOUN, 71, was born in Henry county on July 30, 1882, the son of the late John C. and Martha WILLIAMS CALHOUN. He was united in marriage on Nov. 18, 1915, to Elizabeth BOND at Shirley, Ark.
He is survived by the following sons and daughters; Leonard CALHOUN, Moline, Ill.; Victor CALHOUN , Mt. Pleasant; Earnest CALHOUN, Rome, Ia.; Glenn CALHOUN, Lake City, Kan.; Nina P. CULLUM, Fairfield; Mrs. Hazel V. DENNIS, Salt Lake City and Mrs. Lucille P. THOMPSON, Seattle, Wash.
He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters: Frank CALHOUN, Lowell, Ia; Guy CALHOUN, Danville, Ia.; Mrs. Hattie BONSER, Baldwin Park, Calif., and Mrs. Edith NELSON, Mt. Pleasant.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
