Grace Leona SAMUELSON, 92, of 804 W. Kirkwood Ave., died at 2:19 p.m. Friday, Jan 14, 2000, at Jefferson County Hospital.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Frances Griffeth officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. today at Behner Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church.
Mrs. SAMUELSON was born Dec. 11, 1907, in Henry County near Rome, Iowa, the daughter of John Elmer and Stella HILL MESSER. She married Vern V. SAMUELSON Dec. 17, 1927, in the Lutheran parsonage. He died July 3, 1995.
Mrs. SAMUELSON lived most of her life in the Fairfield community. She was a homemaker. She was an Avon sales representative for 18 years. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two sons, Merlin "Sammy" and Donald SAMUELSON, both of Fairfield; two daughters, Marjorie BREUER of Burlington and Wanda KESSEL of Fairfield; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; five great-great-granddaughters; three sisters, Viola SAMUELSON of Fairfield, Gladys WILLICH of Buffalo and Esther DOLLINS of Davenport.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Leonard, Everett, Glen and Clarene MESSER, one sister, Bessie STANLEY; and two great-grandchildren.
