Cleo Helena MYERS, 87, 203 N. Ninth St., died at 8:05 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 1997 at Jefferson County Hospital.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary or Jefferson County Cancer Fund.
Ms. MYERS was born Aug. 27, 1909, at Salina, the daughter of Jessie Curtis and Helena WILL BRIGGS. She had been a member of the Fairfield community since 1947, with her previous residence in Farson. She retired from Fairfield Glove Co. after 27 years. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sons, Jack E. of Marion and Virgil L. of Fairfield; two daughters, Marilyn J. QUICK of Lockridge and Delores J. NUNN of Whittier, Calif.; a brother, William A. Briggs of Fairfield; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert W. in infancy; three brothers, Woodrow BRIGGS, Curtis BRIGGS and Francis BRIGGS; three sisters, Norma SHOCKLEY, Mary JONES and Leona BURKETT; and two great-grandchildren.
