Death Takes E. MESSER

Esco E. MESSER, 73, well known retired Universal Producing employee, died suddenly at 1 a.m. this morning in Clinton, Okla., where he was visiting relatives. Death was due to a heart attack.

The body will arrive this afternoon at Weston Behner Funeral Home, where last rites are pending.

Mr. MESSER was born August 25, 1902 at Centerville, Iowa, the son of Reason and Icie STOUT MESSER. February 19, 1944 he married Juanita BAILEY at Galesburg, Ill. She passed away November 4, 1973.

He was employed for over 25 years at the Universal and the family home is at 1200 S. Seventh in Fairfield. He is a member of the Free Methodist church.

Surviving are three sons and four daughters: Melvin and Raymond MESSER of Des Moines and Virgil in California; Mrs. Mary EARLL, Washington, Iowa; Minnie TURNER, Muscatine; Vivian HYND, Fairfield and Catherine WOODSON of Mount Pleasant.

He also leaves one brother, Creston MESSER of The Dalles, Ore.; three sisters, Mrs. Wilbur RILEY, Mount Pleasant; Mrs. Edgar OVEROCKER, Streator, Ill. and Mrs. Leo HALL, Elmonte, Calif.; 23 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
