Edna May BARNES, 97, of Nelson Nursing Home died at 6:10 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2000, at Jefferson County Hospital.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Keevin Koch officiating.
Open visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Behner Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to the donor's choice.
Mrs. BARNES was born March 30, 1903, in Fairfield, the daughter of David E. and Anna DESPAIN McINTIRE. She married Lester ZILLMAN Oct. 22, 1922. in Fairfield. He died May 17, 1953. She then married Doyle BARNES Nov. 10, 1954, in Nashua. He died July 21, 1973.
Mrs. BARNES lived most of her life in the Fairfield community. She was a homemaker and a telephone operator for United Telephone company in Fairfield for several years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Nellie ANDERSON of Fairfield and Doris CHRISTOPHER of Little Rock, Ark.; one son, Robert ZILLMAN of Fairfield; one stepdaughter, Kay MARTIN of Tucson, Ariz.; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and companion, Swede VORHIES of Fairfield.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents ; nine brothers, Clifford, Ray, Albert, Leonard, Jim, Benny, Charles, Leland, and Harley McINTIRE; and one great-granddaughter.
