Page 8, Column 3Illness Fatal To Ethridge ESKEW
Ethridge ESKEW, 59, manager of the Briggs-Eskew Nursing home here, died at 5 a.m. today at Sunnyslope sanitorium in Ottumwa. He had been seriously ill for 29 days and in failing health for several years.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral home in charge of Rev. Donald L. Hickman. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
ESKEW came to Fairfield eight years ago as manager of the Briggs-Eskew Nursing home. He was born Jan. 23, 1904 at Mt. Vernon, Ill., the son of Sydney and Minnie HICKS ESKEW. He was married to Agnes KELTNER Aug. 3, 1955 at Mt. Pleasant.
Surviving are his wife and two sisters, Mrs. Howard VORBERG, St, Charles, Ill., and Mrs. Virginia WELMANN, Benton, Ill. His parents and one brother preceded him in death.
