Donald B. 'Dutch' COLESON

Donald B. "Dutch" COLESON. 72, 102 N. Cromwell St., died at 6:31 a.m. today, Monday, Jan. 3, 1994, in the emergency room at Jefferson County Hospital.

Arrangements are pending at Raymond Funeral Home.

COLESON was born Feb. 11, 1921, in Fairfield, the son of Lawrence (sic - Laurence) and Clara SANDEN COLESON. A lifetime resident of Fairfield, he graduated from Fairfield High School in 1940. On Sept. 3, 1955, he married Lela FITCH at the Christian church parsonage in Fairfield. A veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II, he fought in the Pacific and received the Purple Heart and Silver Star. He worked for 20 years for Verle Nelson Well Drilling and retired as a driver for the Fairfield Fire Department after serving for 26 years. He was a member of the Elks, Eagles, VFW, American Legion and the Firemen and Police Association.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Linda BURDEN of Mount Pleasant; three granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Rosalie CONNOR of Fairfield, Betty LOGAN of Mount Pleasant, Eloise KOPATICH of Moline, Ill., and Verlyn SKORONSKI of Valpariso, Ind. His parents preceded him in death.

Donald COLESON

The service for Donald B. "Dutch" COLESON, 72, 102 N. Morgan St., who died at 6:31 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 1994, in the emergency room of Jefferson County Hospital, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Gates officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation is open at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to the Heart Association, Diabetes Association and the Fairfield Fire Department.
