Thursday, 16 August 1979Norvel McCLEARY dies
BATAVIA --- Novel E. McCLEARY, 66, native of the Libertyville community, died Wednesday at 4:10 p.m. at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City where he had been a patient for six weeks. He had been in failing health a number of years.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Faith Methodist Church in Libertyville with Rev. John Wilken officiating. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery south of Libertyville.
Visitation will be at the Behner Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday.
Norvel E. McCLEARY was born Feb. 23, 1913, near Libertyville. He was the son of J. Lewis and Sarah Ann HOFFMAN McCLEARY.
His marriage to Dorothy HUFFMAN took place Oct. 7, 1934. She survives.
He had been a farmer all of his life and the family home is located one mile west of Libertyville.
McCLEARY served with the U.S. Navy during World War II, he was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Eagles Lodge and American Legion.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by one son, Ronald, Libertyville; a daughter, Marilyn LOUTH, Clinton; five grandchildren.
He is also survived by a brother, Henry McCLEARY, Packwood; four sisters, Grace JORGENSON, Washington, D. C.; Averyle McCOY, Tustin, Calif.; Florence WALKER, Traverse City, Mich.; and Frances JOHNSON, Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by one grandson.
