DEATH TAKES G. A. SWITZER

George A. SWITZER, retired railroad employee, died early this morning at the Jefferson county hospital, after a serious illness of two weeks. SWITZER, 61, had been a patient at the hospital for 10 days.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Victory Tabernacle. The Rev. Raymond Lisenbee will be in charge assisted by Rev. Harry Fosha of Beardstown, Ill. The body will remain at the Weston Behner Funeral home until 12:30 p.m. Friday.

SWITZER was born Feb. 17, 1889 in Central City, Neb. the son of Abner and Emma JACKSON SWITZER. He had lived in Lockridge and Fairfield for the past 23 years and was employed by the Burlington railroad for 37 years prior to his retirement in July 1947.

Switzer was married to Ruth Mae CASE March 8, 1911. She preceded him in death. On March 12, 1927 he married Icie L. MESSER, who survives.

Switzer is survived by three children, Ralph L. SWITZER, Fairfield, Mrs. Lucille WHITE, Rock Island, Ill., and Mrs. Elizabeth PENTECOST, Crawfordsville. The following step-children also survive: Escoe MESSER, Fairfield; Eustace MESSER, Gillespie, Ill.; Mrs. Lola GALLUP, Streator, Ill.; Mrs. Muriel SMITH, Fairfield; Creston MESSER, Beardstown, Ill. and Mrs. Frances RILEY, Ft. Madison.

Other survivors include, one sister, Mrs. Rose FREEMAN, Rockford, Ill., one half -brother, Lou SWITZER, Rockford, Ill.; 30 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

SWITZER was a member of the Victory Tabernacle.
