Max H. STUTZMAN

LOCKRIDGE --- The services for Max H. STUTZMAN, 70, of rural Lockridge, who died of an apparent heat attack at 7;30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 1991, at Henry County Health Center, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Weir Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant with the Rev. Lester Smith officiating. Burial will be in Lockridge Cemetery. Open visitation begins at 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, where family visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 that night. A memorial has been established to Lockridge First Responders.

STUTZMAN was born Oct. 25, 1921 (sic - 29th), near Wayland, the son of Harry S. and Clara A. TSCHANTZ STUTZMAN. On Feb. 23, 1941, at Washington, Iowa, he married Anna Mae ERICKSON. She died 5 July 1989. He farmed near Denmark in Lee county, the White Oak area in Henry County and south of Lockridge in Jefferson County. He attended the Lockridge Baptist Church and was a member of Farm Bureau.

Surviving are a son, LeRoy of rural Lockridge; a daughter, Bonnie JANNINGS of Lockridge; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dale R. and Denzell, both of Lockridge; four sisters, Velma HAMM of Mount Pleasant, Lucille TAYLOR of Douds, Lois ROHDE of rural Mount Pleasant and Cleo BLOCKER of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, a sister, Marilyn STUTZMAN and a brother Richard E., who died Sunday at Thayer of an apparent heart attack, His service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Word of Life Christian Center north of Lorimor.
