Velda HILDEBRAND

Velda B. HILDEBRAND, 76, 306 E. Burlington, died suddenly at 3:10 a.m. at Parkview Care Center following a short illness.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, 10 a.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Sattler and the Rev. Alton Koch officiating. Burial will be in Lockridge Cemetery. Family visitation will be Tuesday, 7 to 8 p.m., at Behner Funeral Home.

Mrs. HILDEBRAND was born May 26, 1903, in Henry County, the daughter of Lawrence and Martha SMITH ALLENDER. She married Otto H. HILDEBRAND Sept. 14, 1919, in Mount Pleasant. He died Feb. 12. 1976.

Surviving are a son, Everett, New London; a daughter, Mrs. Richard HISEL, Fairfield; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son and three brothers.

She was a lifetime resident of Jefferson county She played the piano in the Hildebrand Band which traveled in southeast Iowa and was a musician for VFW Auxiliary Post 2271 for over 20 years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and LWML and worked as a Gray Lady at the VA Hospital and the Mental Health Institute.
