BATAVIA ---- The service for Agnes l. SICKELS, 63, of Des Moines, formerly of Batavia, who died Tuesday, April 19, 1994, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Campbell-Kremer Funeral Home in Batavia with the Rev. Thomas Clark officiating. Burial will be in Batavia Cemetery southeast of Batavia. Open visitation begins at 9 a.m. Saturday and continues until time of the service. A memorial fund has been established.
Mrs. SICKELS was born March 20, 1931, in Floris, the daughter of Raymond and Ocie LONGERBONE McCLEARY. She was educated in Batavia, graduating from Batavia High School in 1950. On May 31, 1950, she married Charles SICKELS in Keosauqua. They later moved to Des Moines where she was employed as a supervisor for Communication Data Systems of Des Moines from 1975 until retiring in 1993. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Des Moines.
Surviving are her husband; five sons, Raymond D., Charles, Harley, Steven and James, all of Des Moines; a daughter, Kimberly FREDERICK of Des Moines; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five brothers, Harvey, David and Tom McCLEARY, all of Batavia, Stanley McCLEARY of Southgate, Calif., Harley McCLEARY of Grand Junction, Colo.; two sisters, Betty Lou PUMPHREY of Hedrick and Alice THOMPSON (sic - THOMSON) of Olin. Two brothers, Lloyd and James Allen preceded her in death.
