George W. BLACK Taken In Death

George W. BLACK, 75, retired farmer, died Tuesday at the Jefferson County Hospital where he had been a patient for 13 days.

BLACK had been a resident of the Fairfield area since 1913. The family home is eight and one-half miles southeast of the city.

Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. E. Wayne Ryan. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call on the family at the Dennis MERCER home at 406 N. Sixth St.

BLACK was born March 16, 1892 in Henry County, the son of George and Annabelle MESSER BLACK. He was married to Zenith LYON, June 14, 1917.

Surviving are his widow and two children; Mrs. Robert J. PRUNTY, Camanche; and Charles E. BLACK, San Diego, Calif.

Also Surviving are seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; two brothers, Earl BLACK, Cedar Rapids, and Leslie BLACK, Hillsboro; and one sister, Mrs. Grace WILSON, Mount Pleasant.

Two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.

Buried: Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Devotion B76, space 1
