Kathryn Mae FRANKLIN

Kathryn Mae FRANKLIN, 65, of Packwood, died at 12:28 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Prairie View United Methodist Church north of Packwood with the Rev. Shirley Huffman Will officiating. Interment will be in the Packwood cemetery.

A memorial has been established to Prairie View Methodist Church. Memorials can be mailed to John Myers, 1429 125th St., Packwood 52580 or left at the funeral home.

Mrs. FRANKLIN was born April 23, 1937, in Ottumwa, the daughter of Gaylord Dale and Reva Blanche MERCER MYERS. She married Warner Miles FRANKLIN Sept. 13, 1959, in Packwood. He died Feb. 5, 1996.

She was a lifetime resident of Packwood. She graduated from Packwood High School and St. Joseph School of Nursing in Ottumwa. She was a registered nurse for 29 years at Jefferson County Hospital until her retirement in 1997.

She was a member of Prairie View United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, David Alan FRANKLIN of Woodridge, Ill. and Gregory Scott FRANKLIN of Packwood; two daughters, Jane Ann SCHULTZ of Greensboro, N.C. and Patricia UNDERWOOD and her husband Donald of Hickory, N.C.; two grandson; and one brother, John MYERS and his wife Yolanda of Packwood.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Nancy RACHFORD.
