Melvin R. MECK

Melvin "Bill" R. MECK, 74, 2237 Highway 34 East, died at 11:10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, 1998, at Parkview Care Center.

Graveside service will be Thursday at Maple Hill Cemetery near Birmingham with the Rev. Phil Campbell officiating. Family visitation will be 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Mr. MECK was born Sept. 21, 1924, Birmingham, the son of Ray and Harriet LYON MECK. He lived most of his life in Jefferson County. He was a self-employed carpenter and had worked for Rockwell International for a couple of years.

Survivors include on son, Russell Allen MECL; one daughter, Donna Rae MECK; two brothers, Lyle and Clifton MECK, both of Fairfield; and two sisters, Edna CRAFTON of Birmingham and Leona HOLDER of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Dale, Wesley "Joe", Harold and Don Meck.
