OBITUARIES

Lyle MECK

Lyle Raymond MECK, 88, of Fairfield, died Saturday, July 23, 2005, in Fairfield.

A graveside service is scheduled at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Fell Cemetery in Libertyville, with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating.

Visitation is scheduled from 10 - 11 a.m. Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial for Heartland Humane Society in Ottumwa.

Mr. MECK was born June 9, 1917, in Birmingham, the son of Raymond Henry and Harriet Jane LYON MECK. He married Eva Irene O'LAUGHLIN Oct. 5, 1939, in Lancaster, Mo. She died Jan. 7, 1995.

He was a farmer in Libertyville all his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include one daughter, Kathy FRESCOLN and husband Richard of Batavia; one sister, Leona HOLDER; one brother, Clifton MECK; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two infant children, Marilyn and Micheal; one sister, Edna CRAFTON; and five brothers, Joseph, Melvin, Wesley, Donald and Harold MECK.
