Mae M. DAVIS rites Monday

Services for Mae M. DAVIS, 88, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Raymond Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald Slaughter will officiate and burial will be in Packwood Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home as they desire. Memorials may be made to the Packwood Christian Church.

Mrs. DAVIS died at 9 a.m. Friday at the Ottumwa Hospital in Ottumwa.

Mae M. Davis was born Feb. 6, 1896, in Packwood. She was the daughter of Charles W. and Polly DAVIS PETERS. She was a lifetime resident of Jefferson County and had served as a telephone operator at Bladensburg and Packwood.

She was a member of the Packwood Christian Church, a charter member of the Sew and So Club, and a member of the Ladies Aid.

Mrs. DAVIS was a member of the Eastern Star for 56 years and a 50-year member of the White Shrine.

Her marriage to Ira E. DAVIS took place Nov. 22, 1916, in Ottumwa. He survives. The family home is at 1109 S. Sixth.

In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter, Faye PETERSON, Fairfield; two granddaughters, one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter; and a brother, Harold PETERS, McAllen, Texas.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a grandson.
