... --Mrs. M. BURNETT of Burlington is here with her mother, Mrs. W. W. FORDYCE, who has been a patient at the Jefferson county hospital since she fell and broke her hip, several weeks ago. The many friends of Mrs. FORDYCE here and over the county will be sorry indeed to hear that for the past few days Mrs. FORDYCE's condition has not been as encouraging as formerly.

Services at 3 O’clock Tomorrow From Methodist ChurchMrs. Mariam FORDYCE, widow of the late Dr. W. FORDYCE, died at the Jefferson County Hospital at 5:50 o’clock last evening of pneumonia. She had been a patient at the hospital since last November, when she fell at her home, 200 East Broadway, breaking her hip. She was recovering from this injury when complications set in.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o’clock from the First Methodist church in charge of Dr. U. S. Smith. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mrs. FORDYCE was born at Glasgow, Iowa, December 7, 1855, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David FELL, pioneer residents of Round Prairie township. She was married December 19, 1876 to Dr. Winfield FORDYCE, a prominent Jefferson county physician, who preceded her in death April 16, 1928.
Surviving are three children, Mary, now Mrs. J. M. BURNETT of Burlington; Elsie, Mrs. J. A. ROTH of Rock Rapids, and Dr. Chester FORDYCE of Fairfield. She also leaves five grand children, Mrs. G. A. SMITH and Mrs. Victor WALLEN of Burlington, Mrs. John Lee WOODS of Crossett, Ark; Miss Mariam ROTH of Chicago and John FORDYCE of Fairfield. Two sisters, Mrs. Anna FORDYCE of Guthrie Center and Mrs. Edwin METCALF of Mt. Pleasant, and six Great grandchildren also survive. All of her children were at her bedside at the time of her death.
Mrs. FORDYCE was prominent in the Order of Eastern Star and many other social organizations in Fairfield.

Funeral Services at Three O'clock Yesterday In Methodist ChurchImpressive funeral services yesterday afternoon at three oclock in the First Methodist church, marked the last tribute paid Mrs. Winfield FORDYCE by her many friends and associates. The edifice was filled by the many friends and relatives who had come to honor the one who had won their esteem and affection.
Magnificent floral offerings, sent by friends and relatives, were banked about the casket and upon the church rostrum in mute testimony of the esteem in which Mrs. FORDYCE was held by all who knew her.
Dr. U. S. Smith officiated at the services. Prof. J. P. Moorhead played preceding the services and afterwards. He used as his selections several hymns and "Prayer" by Lemare, "Largo," by Jandel, and "Rest In The Lord" from Elijah, by Mendelssohn.
Casket attendants were O. Newton Hughes, Charles H. Heer, Leo D. Thoma, W. G. Heaton, A. F. Greef and C. W. Wade. Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery.

Notice is hereby given that an instrument, purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Mariam FORDYCE, Deceased, is now on file in the office of the Clerk of the District Court of Jefferson county, and that Friday, march 18th, A. D., 1932 at 2 oclock p. m., it being the 23rd day of February Term, of said court, has been set for proof and final hearing of same.
Witness my hand and the seal of said Court this 22nd day of February, 1932.
