John C. GOSSICK, son of William and Elizabeth GOSSICK, was born at Mt. Pulaski, Ill., May 3, 1865 (sic - May 18), and departed this life Nov. 28, 1934. When a small child he moved with his parents to Fairfield where he has since resided. On Dec. 8, 1897 he was united in marriage with Miss Eva TEETER of Richland, Iowa. To this union were born three sons, Paul K. GOSSICK, of Pontiac, Mich.; Charles O. GOSSICK, of Fairfield and Robert Ben who died in infancy. He is also survived by two grand children, John Edward GOSSICK and Donald Wilson GOSSICK and two sisters, Mrs. W. W. DYER of Los Angeles, California and Mrs. Charles JORDAN of Ottumwa.

*Transcribed for genealogy purposes; I have no relation to the person(s) mentioned.Note: Buried in Lot 2nd.081 with second wife Eva TEETER GOSSICK; she remarried to John JOHNSON and died in 1968. John GOSSICK's first wife was Annie EASTON who died in 1894 and is also buried at Evergreen, in Lot Old.P.225. Although his obituary notes he was born in 1860, at least two censuses give ages more consistent with 1865 as is noted on his gravestone. The more common (and used by later generations) spelling of the surname is GOSSICK, however other family members' obituaries have used GOSSIC and gravestones have used GOSICK. Consider variations when researching this family. John's gravestone spells the surname GOSSICK.
