Mrs. W. N. GOSSICK, an old resident of this city, passed away this morning at nine o'clock at her home on East Lowe street, aged 80 years.
The arrangements for the funeral have not as yet been made.

Mrs. William GOSSICK passed away yesterday morning at nine o'clock at her home on East Lowe street.
Elizabeth MANLEY, daughter of James and Mary ATWOOD MANLEY, was born in Athens county, Ohio, in 1837, where she grew to young womanhood and in Jan. 1853, she was united in marriage to William N. GOSSICK. Soon after their marriage they came west stopping in Illinois for a short time then coming to Iowa where the remainder of her life has been spent, nearly all in Jefferson county. Seven children were born to them, two of whom--William and Ben--preceded her in death. Those living are: Mrs. Mary JENKINS, Keosauqua; Mrs. W. W. DYER and Mrs. C. W. JORDAN of Ottumwa, and John GOSSICK and Mrs. A. W. BROWN of this city. She is also survived by her aged husband who is very feeble.
Funeral services will be held this evening at six o'clock at the home, conducted by Rev. R. H. Polly, pastor of the Christian church of which Mrs. GOSSICK has been a lifelong member, and as the sun is sinking in the west, the body will be laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery.

Elizabeth T. GOSSICK, daughter of James and Mary MANLEY, was born at Zanesville, Ohio, Oct. 3, 1836, and departed this life August 1, 1917, aged 80 yrs. and 10 months.
She was united in marriage to William N. GOSSICK Jan. 29, 1853, at Nelsonville, Ohio. To his union were born eight children, four sons and four daughters. Three sons, James, Ben. L., and William, preceded their mother in death. Those living are: Mrs. Mary JENKINS, Keosauqua, Iowa; John C. GOSSICK and Mrs. Zell BROWN, Fairfield, Iowa; Mrs. W. W. DYER; and Mrs. C. W. JORDAN, Ottumwa, Iowa. All were with their mother during her last illness, as was also her husband, who is left to mourn her loss. She also has 17 grand children and 5 great-grandchildren living.
Mrs. GOSSICK grew to womanhood in Athens county, Ohio, and in 1856, with her husband, moved to Knoxville, Ill., where they resided until 1866, when they came to Iowa, where they have since resided in and near Fairfield. She united with the Christian church in 1865 and lived and died in the faith.
Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. R. H. Polly, at the home Thursday evening at six o'clock and the body laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery.

The more common (and used by later generations) spelling of the surname is GOSSICK, however her gravestone has GOSICK. Other family members' obituaries have used GOSSIC. Consider variations when researching this family.
