OBITUARY

THOMAS FREDERICK TURNER

Thomas Frederick TURNER, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Fred TURNER, was born in Fairfield, Ia., Sept. 19, 1883, and passed away at University hospital Iowa City., Ia., March 13th, 1927, at the age of 44 years. He was taken to that institution about four weeks ago and was under the care of expert physicians who administered to him, but to no avail.

Services were held at St. Mary's Catholic church Thursday, March 15, Father E. F. Gaule conducting the services. Interment in Evergreen cemetery.

He was an industrious boy and learned the printing trade at the Ledger office, also worked with his father in the Tribune office and latter (sic - later) was employed in Home Printing Co., and Baker-Vander Co., at Atchison, Kans. When the family came back to Fairfield he secured employment at the Iowa Malleable Iron Works, where he learned moulding and was last employed there prior to his demise.

He was married to Gertrude L. JOHNSON, July, 1915 and to them were born a daughter and son Elaine and Thomas F. Jr. Besides his immediate family he leaves his father and mother, sister and brother and a number of friends and relatives to mourn his passing.

Note: Buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, in Lot 2nd.232. Wife Gertrude would later marry Samuel K. SMITH and die in 1945, and is buried with Thomas.
