Fred L. LIPPITT Dies Suddenly

Fred L. LIPPITT, long-time resident of Fairfield, died suddenly about 4:50 p.m. Wednesday at his home, 903 S. Fifth St.

He had been a resident of Fairfield for over 60 years and was employed by the Evergreen cemetery association for 35 years prior to his retirement.

Last rites will be held Saturday at the Weston Behner funeral home at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Fred L. LIPPITT, 82, was born March 17, 1877, at Delevan (sic - Delavan), Wis., the son of Kezikiah and Kate JOYNER LIPPITT. He married Florence HAMMONS (sic - HAMMANS) on Oct. 15, 1929.

Besides his wife he is survived by the following step-children: Mrs. J. K. BLACK, E. C. HAMMONS (sic - HAMMANS) and A. Wayne HAMMONS (sic - HAMMANS), all of Fairfield; and Harold HAMMONS (sic - HAMMANS), Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Note: Buried in Lot Old.P.276. His surname is incorrectly engraved on his stone, spelled LIPPETT. LIPPITT is the correct spelling. Wife Florence is Fred's second marriage, as well as being her second marriage; her maiden name was BOGUE. He is buried with Florence.
