A. C. TURNER, 66, DIES SUDDENLY AT HOME HERE
City Assessor Summone Early Today Following Heart Attack

City Assessor A. C. TURNER, 66, prominent resident of Jefferson county, having served eight terms as County Auditor, died suddenly at his home here early this morning of a heart attack.

He was taken suddenly ill Sunday night while at his home. He had been in his usual health, and about town the same day. He died at 12:30 a.m. today.

Albert Clarence TURNER was born August 15, 1869, at Glasgow and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel TURNER. His father was a well known Civil War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Orpha B. TURNER and one son (sic - stepson), H. W. COOK of Youngstown, Ohio, and two brothers, James E. TURNER and Wilson G. TURNER, both of Fairfield.

He had been a resident of Jefferson county his entire life, and had been employed by the Louden Machinery Company, and the Charter Oak Wagon Works. He was a member of the Republican party and had served as the Auditor of Jefferson county for sixteen years. He was active in Masonry, being a 32nd degree Mason. He was a member of the Degree of Honor Protective Association. At the time of his death he was the Fairfield city assessor.

The body was taken to the Hoskins Funeral Home.

Note: Buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, in Lot 3rd.066½. Wife Orpha GRIMSLEY was first married to William COOK; she died in 1960 and is buried in Evergreen with Albert.
