Page 3, Column 4THE death of Miss Sadie SCOTT last Saturday morning was a great surprise to her numerous acquaintances in this city. She had been sick but a week, having been taken ill the Saturday previous while in the city shopping. She continued to decline steadily almost from the first, and about six o'clock last Saturday morning expired. But none of her friends dreamed that she was dangerously ill. Miss SCOTT was the daughter of Mr. Abram SCOTT, who lives north of the city, and was his youngest daughter. She was a young lady of many excellencies, a very sweet and attractive girl. She was in her twentieth year, and was a member of the third year preparatory class of Parsons college. The funeral occurred on Sunday and was very largely attended. Rev. Boyd performed the ceremony. The class in the college of which Miss SCOTT was a member, adopted the following resolutions in respect to her memory:
Since it has pleased God to remove from our midst by death, our friend and classmate, Miss Sadie SCOTT, and since we feel deeply the loss of her presence and companionship, be it
Resolved, That we express our sorrow at the loss of one so promising, yet bow in resignation to the Divine will.
Resolved, That we tender to the bereaved family our warmest sympathy in their deep affliction.
Resolved, That these resolutions be spread on our minutes and be published in the city papers, and a copy be sent to parents of the deceased.

At her home, four miles north of Fairfield, Sadie, the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. SCOTT, died Saturday morning last. Sadie was a student of Parsons College, a member of the third year class of the preparatory department. Not being very well a part of the winter term, her parents persuaded her to remain out of college for the spring term. On the Saturday preceding her death she was in town, in her usual health. On Monday she was quite sick, but her physicians did not consider her dangerously ill until Thursday. The news of her death was an appalling surprise to every one. It was hard to realize that Sadie SCOTT was to be no longer with us. A sweet and beautiful life was suddenly brought to its close, while it was yet in the bloom of youth. She was amiable, cheerful and confiding, and never spoke unkindly of any one. In her affliction she was patient and endured her severe suffering with christian fortitude. After a paroxysm of intense pain she said, "I thought it was my time to pass away; I had no fear of death." She had fled, in the days of her health, for refuge to him who can give grace to help in time of need, and had made a public profession of her faith some months before her decease. Thus early, she has entered into her rest in that beautiful home not made with hands, where God is her all in all.
RESOLUTIONS.
In memory of Miss Sadie SCOTT, adopted by the Class of '87, of Parsons College.Since it has pleased God to removed from our midst by death, our friend and classmate, Miss Sadie SCOTT, and since we feel deeply the loss of her presence and companionship, be it
