Robert 'Bob' Earl WILSON

Robert "Bob" Earl WILSON, 89, of Cheyenne, Wyo., died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, at Cheyenne Life Care Center.

A celebration of his life will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the family home. The body has been cremated.

Interment of his ashes and a graveside service will be at a later date in Fairfield.

Mr. WILSON was born June 6, 1933, in Portland, Ore., the son of Samuel James Sr. and Harriet Hazel LOWE WILSON. He married Juanita RUSSEL Jan. 1, 1952. They later divorced.

Mr. WILSON was raised in Canby, Ore., until the death of his father. He and his mother then moved to Mountain Home, Idaho, where he lived until joining the United States Navy. He served 3.5 years as a radio operator on a P2-V2 during the Korean War.

Mr. WILSON then worked for Boeing Aircraft in the state of Washington installing electronic equipment on airplanes. The rest of his career he worked for the Federal Aviation Administration throughout Alaska in King Salmon, Fairbanks and Anchorage, where he retired in 1989. While serving the FAA, he began as an electronics technician and worked his way up to sector manager. After leaving Anchorage in 1992, he and his wife lived three years in Fairfield and then in 1995 settled in Cheyenne.

Mr. WILSON was a past member of Fraternal Order of the Moose and Toastmasters.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, making people laugh, hunting, fishing, camping and spending hours on his flight simulator.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Sue; three daughters, Vicky PITCHER and husband Bruce, Debbie CROSSON and husband Duane and Sandy TOENIES and wife Cary; two sons, Bob Jr. and Steve; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter, all of Fairbanks, Alaska. Survivors also include one brother, Jim NICHOLAS.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Samuel James Jr.; one son, David; one daughter, Pam; and two grandsons.

Robert 'Bob' E. WILSON Sr.

Robert "Bob" E. WILSON Sr. of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away October 5, 2011 at Life Care Center of Cheyenne, with his wife, Mary Sue HICKENBOTTOM WILSON, at his side. Per Bob's request, he was cremated.

A graveside service, with military rites, will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield, with Pastor Nate Nims officiating. Behner Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Location will be announced at the service, for visitation and lunch, immediately following. Casual dress is encouraged.
