Bob RANARD rites

Grover "Bob" RANARD, 63, 607 W. Washington, died at 10:47 p.m. Wednesday at his home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Stephen Higdon officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call starting at noon Friday. A memorial has been established to the Heart Fund.

RANARD was born March 13, 1924 in Jefferson County, the son of Walker (sic - Joseph Walker) and Mabel HAWBAKER RANARD. He married Evelyn THOMPSON March 9, 1957 in Agency. He lived his entire life in the Fairfield community, where he was employed by the maintenance department at Dexter Company for 40 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion. He had attended the Assembly of God Church.

Surviving are his wife; a stepson, Lloyd COMER of Rockford, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Janet MILLER of Fairfield; 11 stepgrandchildren; 16 step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Gayle RANARD of Fairfield; two sisters, Grace ALLISON of Parma, Mich., and Phyllis McGEE of Jackson, Mich. His parents, four brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

Note: Buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield. His wife Evelyn was previously married to Virble COMER. She would die in 1997 and is buried with Grover in Lot 5th.132.
