Viola G. CRANE, 97, of Mount Pleasant, died at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at Parkview Care Center.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Kimberly Bowles officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery (note: in Mount Pleasant, Henry Co., IA).

Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at Beatty Funeral Home, with the family present from 2-4 p.m.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant.

Mrs. CRANE was born Nov. 6, 1905, in Lockridge, the daughter of Oscar and Ida PETERSON. She married Everett CRANE Dec. 29, 1937, in Lockridge. He died Oct. 7, 1978.

Mrs. CRANE attended Lockridge School and graduated from the Fairfield High School. She and her husband lived on a farm southwest of Mount Pleasant, moving to Mount Pleasant in 1950.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Lucinda CARLSON.
