Marveline L. WILSON, 81, formerly of Brighton, died at 9:55 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, at Parkview Home in Wayland.

Arrangements are pending at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton.

Marveline L. WILSON

Marveline L. WILSON, 81, formerly of Brighton died at 9:55 p.m.. Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, at Parkview Home in Wayland.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Oakridge Cemetery, northwest of Brighton. Friends may join the funeral procession leaving Gould Funeral Home in Brighton at 10 a.m.

Memorials to Hospice of Central Iowa or Brighton First Church of God may be brought to the service or mailed to the family at 408 S. Mechanic St., Brighton 52540.

Gould Funeral Home of Brighton is assisting the family.

Mrs. WILSON was born May 30, 1930, in Burlington, the daughter of Roy E. and M. Lucille SOURWINE BENCE. She married Lloyd W. WILSON Aug. 28, 1949, in Washington, Iowa. He died Oct. 25, 1979.

Mrs. WILSON grew up in Burlington and graduated from Burlington High School. She and her husband owned and operated the Cardinal Insurance Co. and the Cardinal Inn in Brighton.

She loved to fish, play bingo and make crafts.

Survivors include one daughter, Nannette GRIMES and husband James of Brighton; one son, David WILSON and wife Nancy of Bluffton, Ohio; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one great-granddaughter; sister, Sharon BELLER; and brother, Robert BENCE.
