D.M. OLIVER DIES AT 85

Former Jefferson county auditor dies in Ft. Madison

D. M. OLIVER (sic. David M. OLIVER), 85 years of age, died at the Sacred Heart hospital in Ft. Madison, at 10:45 o'clock Sunday morning (sic. which would be July 24, 1938; other sources had used July 26, 1938 for the DOD). Funeral services will be held at 1:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Clemments Funeral home in Fort Madison. Burial will be made in the Evergreen cemetery, Fairfield at 4:00 p.m. Short services will be held at the grave.

Mr. OLIVER was a former Jefferson county and Fairfield resident. He was county auditor of Jefferson county in 1905 and 1906.

He is survived by his wife (sic. Frances C OSBORNE, 1851-1942), one brother, A. C. OLIVER (sic. Addison Cromwell OLIVER) of Packwood; two sons, E. P. OLIVER of Ft. Madison and W. E. OLIVER of Oskaloosa; one daughter, Mrs. T. J. O'CONNOR of Oregon; and by six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
