Otto R. JOHNSON, 71, former Fairfield painter and decorator, died early today at Mt. Pleasant after several years of failing health.
Last rites will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral home in charge of Dr. J. Henry Teele. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
JOHNSON was a resident of this community for 38 years before moving to Davenport. He was born Dec. 15, 1885, near Perlee, the son of Swan and Charlotte ANDERSON JOHNSON. He was married to Irene A. WALKER in February, 1922. She preceded him in death Nov. 14 (sic - 15th), 1941.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth O'LEARY, Davenport; four grandchildren, a brother, William S. JOHNSON, Fairfield; and a sister, Mrs. Edith STARK, Salem. Two children are deceased.

Note: Buried in Evergreen Cemetery, in Lot SDiv.1-016. Wife Irene was first married to a John LESHER, and is buried in a nearby lot, SDiv.1-014 under the JOHNSON name.
