MRS. LEWIS PASSES AWAY

Catherine E. LEWIS was born June 24, 1886 (sic - 1866) in Germany and pased (sic - passed) away last evening at 5:30, at her home, 206 West Washington. She is survived by her husband, S. R. LEWIS; two daughters, Mrs. Robert L. FULTON of Des Moines; and Mrs. Floyd GAINES of Fairfield; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; One daughter, Mrs. Hazel BURNAUGH passed away December 16 1941 and one brother Jacob RINGELSPACH passed away in the spring of 1917.

Mrs. LEWIS had been in poor health for the past three years and suffered a heart attack, August 25, 1944. She had been bed fast the past two months.

Mrs. LEWIS was a resident of Fairfield for fifty-seven years. She came to this country from Germany with her parents when she was five years old. Mr. and Mrs. LEWIS were married Oct. 15, 1883.

She was a member of the First Lutheran church of Fairfield, a member of the Rebecca Lodge. 386, the Naomi Club, the W R C and the Jefferson County Golden Wedding Couples Club.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, at 2:00 p.m. at the Fairfield Lutheran Church, with Dr. E. A. Piper. The body will be taken to the church from the Hoskins Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Interment will be at Evergreen cemetery.
