Viola Eileen SHIPLEY

Viola Eileen SHIPLEY, 78, of Fairfield, died at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at SunnyBrook Living Care Center in Fairfield.

A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Central Baptist Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Ray Ellerd officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Douds.

Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Memorials to the church or Fairfield Senior Center may be brought to the church or mailed to the family at 51 N. Morgan St., Fairfield 52556.

Ms. SHIPLEY was born July 21, 1933, near Birmingham, the daughter of Harley F. and Ila BRANDT SHIPLEY.

Ms. SHIPLEY was raised in the Birmingham area and attended West Union Country School.

She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Fairfield.

Ms. SHIPLEY enjoyed shopping, attending church, attending the Old Threshers Reunion, spending time with family and friends and helping at the Fairfield Senior Center, where she earned the Governor's Volunteer Award this year.

Survivors include her twin sister, Violet FINDLAY of Fairfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Harley "Bud" SHIPLEY.
