Katherine V. BONFIELD, who served the community for 50 years as a school teacher, died suddenly late yesterday afternoon of a heart attack at her home, 308 E. Burlington street.
Despite her advanced age she had been in good health until a week ago. Although she had been ill the past few days her death yesterday was sudden and unexpected. She passed away at 5:30 p.m.
Last rites will be Friday at 9 a.m. at the St. Mary Catholic church with the Rev. O. F. DeCoursey officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The rosary will be recited at the Raymond funeral home at 9 p.m. Thursday.
Katherine Veronica BONFIELD, 90, was born Jan. 13, 1869, in Fairfield, the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret HARRISON BONFIELD. She was educated in the Fairfield schools and spent her entire life in this community.
She taught four years in country schools, then joined the Fairfield teaching staff where she remained for 46 years before retiring. She did supply teaching several years after her retirement. Miss BONFIELD was a member of the Catholic church.
She is survived by one sister, Nellie BONFIELD, Fairfield; and two nephews, George BONFIELD, Miami, Fla.; and Thomas Francis BONFIELD, Brigantine, N.J.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and three brothers.

You Are Hereby Notified, That an instrument of writing purported to be the last Will and Testament of Katherine BONFIELD, Deceased dated July 3, 1950 having been this day filed, open and read, Wednesday the 11th day of March, 1959, is fixed for hearing proof of same at the Court House in Fairfield, Iowa, before the District Court of said County, or the Clerk of said Court, and at 9:30 o'clock a.m., of the day above mentioned all persons interested are hereby notified and required to appear, and show cause, if any they have, why said instrument should not be probated and allowed as and for the last Will and Testament of said deceased.
