MRS. M. BONFIELD PASSES AWAY
Had Been Ill For Several Weeks; Funeral Services Held Saturday

Mrs. Margaret BONFIELD passed away this afternoon at about 2:30 oclock at her home, 308 East Burlington street, after an illness of several weeks. Mrs. BONFIELD was one of the pioneer and most highly respected citizens of this city. She is survived by the following chldren (sic), Misses Elzabeth (sic), Katherine and Margaret at home, Nellie, who is teaching in Des Moines and George of this city.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10 oclock from St. Mary's Catholic church. Interment at Evergreen.

OBITUARY

MRS. MARGARET BONFIELD

Margaret HARRISON was born in Ballie, Ireland, near Belfast on May 16, 1839 and passed away at her home 308 East Burlington street, Thursday afternoon (sic - December 31, 1925). She came to this country with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William HARRISON when 17 years of age. They settled in Burlington, Iowa. In 1861 she was united to Thomas BONFIELD, dry goods merchant at Burlington. He started a branch store in this city and Mr. and Mrs. BONFIELD moved here as bride and groom. To this union were born nine children, four having passed away, as has also the father. Those surviving are Misses Margaret, Katherine, Elizabeth and Nellie at home and George, all of this city.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from St. Mary's Catholic church in charge of Rev. E. F. Gual (sic - Gaule) assisted by Rev. Father Maher of Ottumwa. Requiem, high mass was held.

The following men served as pall bearers: Dr. John F. Herrick of Ottumwa, Robert F. Wilson, O. D. Stubbs, John Hammon, Henry Oliver and Dr. L. D. James.

Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery.
