Gabriel 'Gabe' Dean HADLEY

Gabriel "Gabe" Dean HADLEY, 10, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, at Riley's Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, Ind., following a five-year battle with stage 4 neuroblastoma cancer.

A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Heritage Assembly of God in Des Molines. Burial will follow at Prairie Center Cemetery (a/k/a Packwood Cemetery) in Packwood. The family will greet friends after the burial at Packwood Christian Church.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Hamilton's on Westown Parkway in West Des Moines.

Gabriel was born June 20, 2001, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa, the son of Douglas D. HADLEY and Michelle R. WILLIAMS-HADLEY.

Gabriel was a student at Southeast Polk schools during his time spent in Pleasant Hill. His family currently resides in Indiana and has been there since 2009.

Gabriel was a member of Berean First Assembly of God Church.

Gabriel enjoyed playing with his sisters, brothers, cousins and friends and was especially fond of "rough-housing" with his dad and going to movies with his mom. He also enjoyed spending time outside at his grandparents' farm in rural Iowa and visiting another set of grandparents in the Branson, Mo. area.

He was a Green Bay Packers, Indianapolis Colts, Iowa Hawkeye, Iowa Stars and Southeast Polk Rams fam. He also followed many drivers from the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

Survivors include his mother; two sisters, Alexandria and Faith HADLEY; two brothers, Luke and Blake WILLIAMS, all of Indiana; his grandparents, Carl and Sue HADLEY of Packwood, Doug and Pat GIBFORD of Blue Eye, Mo., and Connie DODGE of Colorado; and one great-grandmother.

He was preceded in death by his father; and seven great-grandparents.
