OBITUARY.

Martin Joseph LIBLIN was born May 24, 1869, in Cedar township, Jefferson Co. Iowa, where he lived until three years ago. He came to Fairfield for part of his education, attending the business college for some time. At the death of his father, 6 years since he with his brothers took the management of the home farm. He was married Feb. 6, 1900 to Mary A. GILBERT of this city and after a year on the farm moved to Fairfield to become deputy sheriff of the county, and later city marshal, which office he held until his sickness.

Last December Mr. LIBLIN had a severe attack of the whopping (sic - whooping) cough which turned into pneumonia and tuberculosis of which he died Thursday, September 22, 1904 at fifty-seven minutes after twelve.

He leaves a wife, Mrs. Mary A., one daughter Alice Almira, a mother Mrs. Julia LIBLIN, three brothers, Frank D., Fred W. and Benj. W., two sisters, Mary E. and Mrs. J. E. KING of Brighton, Iowa.

Mr. LIBLIN was a member of the Masonic, Odd Fellows and Knights of Pythias lodges of this city. Of a retiring disposition he still made many friends to whom he was very loyal. His life centered in his home where he found a continuous joy. Ever ready to help the needy, he was a good neighbor. Many will miss his presence and remember his kindness.

The funeral was held at his late residence Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, Rev. H. O. Spelman officiating. The Knights Templars, Masons, Odd Fellows and Knights of Pythias were present in a body.

Note: Buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, in Lot Old.P.139. Wife Mary would outlive him by about 24 years, dying in 1928 and buried beside him.
