H. Otis HOOVER

H. Otis HOOVER, 89, formerly of 909 S. Second St., died at 6:15 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, 1992, at Brian Center in Durian, N.C., where he had lived since May.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Richard Wallarab officiating. Private family burial rites will precede the service. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. A memorial has been established to First Presbyterian Church. Raymond Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

HOOVER was born Sept. 20, 1903, at Brighton, the son of George Frank and Elizabeth SIMMONS HOOVER. He grew up in Brighton, lived his adult life in Fairfield, and attended Parsons College. He married Mildred Marie SHOEMAKER on June 7, 1928, at the bride's home in Fairfield. He was employed in the office at Louden Machinery Co. for many years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Fairfield Elks Lodge, Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity at Parsons, and participated in the McDonald Coffee Club when he was able to attend.

Surviving are two grandchildren. His wife died March 21, 1992, and his son, Dr. James O. HOOVER, on Aug. 20, 1992. Six brothers and a sister also preceded him in death.
