Larry W. LAUDERMAN, 70, of Fairfield, formerly of Pleasant Plain, died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

Arrangements are pending at Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington.

Larry Wilmer LAUDERMAN

Larry Wilmer LAUDERMAN, 70, of Pleasant Plain, died from cancer Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

A celebration of life service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington, Iowa, with the Rev. Linda Foor and the Rev. Stan Bauer officiating. Interment will take place in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.

Visitation will begin at noon Thursday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 5-8 p.m.

Memorials have been established to Good Samaritan Hospice of Ottumwa, Christian Church Lending Hands Outreach program in Fairfield and Jefferson County Fair Board.

Mr. LAUDERMAN was born Feb. 12, 1941, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Harry Wilmer and Beulah BAKER LAUDERMAN. He married Janice E. REED Nov. 27, 1966, in Cambridge, Ill. She died in 1987.

Mr. LAUDERMAN graduated from Pleasant Plain High School in 1959 and then worked for United Airlines at O'Hare Airport in Chicago. After marrying, he farmed in the Pleasant Plain area until his retirement. Mr. LAUDERMAN raised purebred Hampshire and Duroc hogs. He was a seed corn dealer for Great Lakes Hybrid and farmed with Ferguson and Massey Ferguson tractors.

Mr. LAUDERMAN was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Washington. He was a member of the Jefferson County Fair Board, Jefferson County Pork Producers and Washington County Farm Bureau.

He enjoyed spending time with family, attending his grandchildren's activities, playing cards and spending time on the farm. He collected hats.

Survivors include his mother of Washington; one daughter, Cindy ADAM of Richland; two sons, Bryan LAUDERMAN and wife Bobbi of Fairfield and Brad LAUDERMAN and wife Mandi of Pleasant Plain; seven grandchildren; and special friend, Dorothy Schultz of Brighton.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his father; one infant son, Darin Larry LAUDERMAN; and one sister, Shirley STOKES.
