MRS. M'MULLEN PASSED AWAY ON CHRISTMAS DAY

Mrs. Eliza GIBBONS McMULLEN passed away Christmas morning following a severe illness.

Mrs. McMULLEN was born July 24, 1942 in Waynesburg, Penn. In 1868 she moved to Jefferson county, where she has since resided.

On October 11, 1868 she united in marriage with William McMULLEN. To this union seven children were born, Browne and W. E. McMULLEN of this city, Mrs. Anna GUDGELL of Rock Island, Ill., and Mrs. Effie MIRANDA of Birmingham.

Funeral services were held from the Methodist church at two o'clock this afternoon in charge of Dr. C. L. Tennant. Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery.

Note: Buried in Lot 2nd.010. Husband William died in 1901. The obituary mentions seven children but only names four. 'Browne' appears to be either a nickname or a typo, as the seven were Edward H., William E., Samuel, Cora, Anna, Effie, and Mattie. It should be noted that the year of death is engraved incorrectly on Eliza's stone; she died in 1920 but the stone reads 1921.
